Teaching and Curriculum Program and Study Intent

This degree is the result of the concurrent graduate degree program between Syracuse University and SUNY-ESF. This degree focuses on Teaching and Curriculum with a designed set of courses geared towards the collegiate academic environment. This program was pursued with the intent to utilize skills and knowledge as a Professor or Lecturer in the college or university setting. Additional training in Instructional Design provided skills and knowledge to create instructional units for any workplace, including universities, industrial fields, or other work-based settings.

Future Professoriate Program

The Future Professoriate Program is a program at Syracuse University that works jointly with SUNY-ESF to assist graduate students who aspire to become faculty in professional development training and opportunities. Through this program, various learning sessions and seminars are offered relating to teaching and updated educational practices. More information can be found below in the "Certificate in University Teaching" Section.

There is also the opportunity for a guided teaching experience (Independent Mentored Teaching) from faculty members. This provides students with supervised practice and reflection of a teaching activity for their professional development. For my experience, I facilitated the GNE 330/530 Cross-Listed course at SUNY-ESF concerning Professional Engineering Skills. This was part of my Joachim Assistantship Duties.

More Information can be found in the Certificate in University Teaching (CUT) Portfolio.
